Bay County’s Remarkable Woman heads to Los Angeles for national recognition

PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WMBB) – In honor of Women’s History Month, News 13 has introduced you to four Panhandle women who are making a difference in their communities.

They were nominated by their peers and finalists in our 2024 Remarkable Women contest.

Each of them is making an impact and truly remarkable, but only one woman will move onto represent our area in our nationwide Remarkable Women contest.

News 13’s 2024 Remarkable Women winner is Phyllis Grier.

Grier is the Pastor at Goshen Evangelistic Ministries in Panama City and founder of the non-profit organization, Goshen Community Resource and Recovery.

She has a love for people. She says her servant’s heart is her purpose.

“If you ever find something you’re passionate about, it ignites you,” said Phyllis Grier.
“Loving people, you’re going to make me cry now, ignites me.”

Grier joined News 13’s Kelsey Peck in-studio to talk about this honor and recognition.

“I am without words, this is absolutely wonderful,” said Grier. “What an honor and I’m just excited about the things to come.”

Grier will head to Los Angeles next week and join 113 women who were named Remarkable Women winners in their respective markets across the country.

News 13 also surprised her with a $1,000 donation to a charity of her choice.

Grier will donate it to Goshen Community Resource and Recovery.
