Lifeguards say this event is very important for preserving the quality of the water and protection of marine life.

“As lifeguards, we feel that we are the stewards of the beach, we want to take care of it as much as we can,” said Panama City Beach Fire Rescue Beach Safety Director Daryl Paul. “We’re known as the world’s most beautiful beaches, and we want to keep it that way. So not only for the water quality and marine life, but simply just to take care of our beach.”

To register for the beach cleanup you can go to the city’s Facebook page or email Panama City Beach Director of Communications Debbie Ingram.
