ECP Airport terminal and baggage claim extension complete by Summer 2024

PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (WMBB) – Crews are wrapping up construction on the new baggage claim extension and north terminal expansion projects at the airport.

They have been under construction for a little more than a year now.

The baggage claim extension and terminal expansion are expected to be completed just in time for the busy season.

The $8 million baggage claim building will be a little over 11,000 square feet.

ECP Airport receives $11.2 million for Project Maple

It will include a new carousel, a modified existing carousel, and bag-sorting equipment.

“There’s going to be a level of discomfort if you will, as we make these as we grow. They’re growing pains is what they are. So as we have these growing pains we’re going to continue to strive to make it so that we’re providing the best service,” said ECP Executive Director Parker McClellan.

The 12,000-square-foot north terminal expansion is taking place on the second floor.

It will cost around $3.3 million.

There will be three new passenger gates, restrooms, and concessions.

McClellan says he expects both projects will be ready in June.
