Kaleidoscope Theatre presents new play featuring special guests

LYNN HAVEN, Fla. (WMBB) – Kaleidoscope Theatre is back with another play for the community to enjoy beginning on Friday, April 5th.

“The Panic Broadcast of 1938” is a comedy play based on the events of “War of the Worlds” and there will be seven showings of it through Sunday, April 14th.

The play is centered around a small town that is invaded by Martians and the hysteria that follows.

The sci-fi feel and comedic drama make it more unique than other plays.

“Another draw was just a lot of times plays are very similar, they’re slapstick and they’re whatever,” said “The Panic Broadcast of 1938 Director” Hillary McAlinden. “This one to have an underlying alien feel was a little silly and it was exciting.”

Kaleidoscope Theatre is a non-profit organization and all the money the theater makes off the play will be put towards other productions and theater camps for children in the summer.
