Panama city community celebrates Easter with brunch and egg hunt

PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WMBB) – Mimosas, live music, and an Easter egg hunt.

Harrison’s Kitchen and Bar celebrated Easter Sunday for the whole family.

Overlooking the Intracoastal in the lawn at Harrison’s many kids could be seen sporting their Easter pastels.

Littered throughout the grass were dozens of multi-colored eggs.

For their second annual easter extravaganza over 600 eggs were scattered for the kids to pursue.

“I’d say it’s a real hit. We have a great turnout. The weather couldn’t be better and everyone seems to be enjoying themselves,” said Harrison’s general manager Jean Capps.

Harrison’s general manager, Jean Capps says about one hundred kids came out to the event.

When the clock struck 11 a.m. the children grabbed their baskets and picked their fill.
They ranged in age between one and ten.

Amongst the regular eggs were a few golden eggs in the bunch.

“We had different age groups, one age one to three, age four to six, and age seven to ten. And whoever found the golden egg for each age group gets a beautiful bunny,” Capps said.

The kids who found the golden eggs received a large stuffed rabbit.

“I got an easter bunny. I found the golden egg right over there,” said golden egg winner Gary Kezior.

Nine year old Gary Kezior was one of the few children to find one of the golden eggs.

Kezior said he wishes next year’s kids all the best for next easter.

“Good luck in finding the golden egg,” Kezior said.

After the hunt, parents got the chance to make some memories.

The Easter Bunny also made an appearance.

Families gathered together for free photos with the holiday mascot and then enjoyed brunch.

“I’m just going to eat some brunch here and have a good time,” Kezior said.

Harrison’s general manager Jean Capps says she’s looking forward to making the event even bigger for year three.
