Investigators said they conducted numerous interviews and forensic analyses of evidence. They determined that Sarazua knew about the shooting and tried to conceal evidence from investigators.

Early in the morning, on May 2, Walton County deputies said they responded to a shooting in Mossy Head after receiving a frantic call made by the victim’s mother that her 11-year-old had been shot.

On Wednesday, investigators said they charged 15-year-old, Luis Mario Polanco-Gonzalez with attempted murder, three counts of aggravated assault, shooting into an occupied dwelling, using a two-way communication device in the commission of a felony, and tampering with evidence.

At this time, investigators said they believed this was a targeted attack that resulted in an unintended victim.

Sarazua was booked into the Walton County Jail before being taken to the Department of Juvenile Justice in Crestview.
