Suspect in custody following stabbing in Jackson County

JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. (WMBB) – On Tuesday night, Jackson County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a residence involving a stabbing.

Authorities said the incident happened around 5 p.m. on Rocky Creek Road where it was reported that a victim had been stabbed with a knife.

Deputies and Jackson County Fire Rescue arrived at the scene. Upon arrival, they saw severe lacerations on the victim’s forearm and a significant amount of blood, according to a news release.


Panama City Police arrest over a dozen suspects in undercover operation

Following the early stages of the investigation, deputies said they determined Joseph McDowell to be the suspect.

Jackson County Sheriff’s Office investigators said they made contact with McDowell at a local park, where he admitted to stabbing the victim after a brief verbal altercation.

McDowell was arrested and is being charged with Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon.
